What do websites cost?+
Starter Presence begins from $350, a Business Website from $1,500, and an Integrated Website from $3,500 — starting points, not quotes or caps. A Custom Website Project is quoted project by project. Your written proposal sets the real price after the Discovery and Design conversations.
Is care required after launch?+
For Business, Integrated, and Custom projects, yes: they begin with an initial three months of Business Care ($199/month) or Growth Care ($399/month), then continue month-to-month. Starter Presence may choose Essential Care ($99/month) or an ownership handoff instead. Care is billed separately from the project price.
How do I get started?+
Answer the project questionnaire. The studio reviews every submission personally and, where the project fits, sends you a private invitation to a Discovery conversation. The questionnaire is the only way in, so every conversation starts with your actual project.
Why two conversations before a price?+
Discovery establishes what the business needs; Design establishes how the site should look, feel, and prioritize. Every package — Starter Presence included — goes through both, because a price set before them would be a guess. A genuinely simple Starter project may get a shorter Design conversation, never a skipped one.
How are projects paid for?+
Starter Presence is normally paid in full on acceptance, unless the approved order form says otherwise. Business Websites are generally paid in two payments (50/50), Integrated Websites in three (40/30/30), and Custom projects in milestones tied to defined events and dates. Work begins once the agreement is signed and the initial payment has cleared; the written agreement sets your exact schedule.
Who owns the website, domain, and email?+
You should normally own your domain and business email from the start. Where the studio procures one for you, ownership transfers once all project payments have cleared and the account is in good standing. A completed codebase can be transferred through GitHub on the same conditions after the project is complete.
What do I need to provide?+
Starter Presence needs finalized text and photos — its price depends on content arriving ready. On larger projects your content is source material we shape together; who writes the copy and sources the images is set in the written scope. If content isn't ready yet, say so; it affects scope and timing.
How long does a project take?+
Timelines are set in the proposal, because they depend on scope, content readiness, integrations, and response time. As a working target, a Starter Presence page is typically completed within two to three weeks once the initial payment and all required content are received. Larger projects are scheduled individually.
How do revisions work?+
Starter Presence includes one revision round; Business and Integrated Websites include two; Custom projects define theirs in the written scope. A revision round is one consolidated set of change requests. Extra rounds can be added at a cost stated up front.
Are there other costs I should know about?+
Sometimes. Paid third-party services — licenses, paid APIs, email or SMS, booking tools, unusual bandwidth — are passed through or quoted separately. Without an active care plan, approved work is billed hourly. Any recurring cost your site depends on is named before launch.
Can my website connect to tools I already use?+
Scoped connections between your website and tools you already use, through their supported APIs or MCP bridges, are work the studio can consider; each one is reviewed during scoping before it is priced. Simple customer-management needs, such as keeping a customer list or emailing offers, may fit after that review. Building complex custom customer-account, login, or portal systems is different work, and the studio does not offer it.
What doesn't the studio take on?+
Tolbert Studio builds websites. It does not take on SaaS products, native mobile apps, full e-commerce stores, complex custom customer-account, login, or portal systems, or paid-ads management. If your project needs one of those, you will hear that early, along with a sensible direction to take it.
Who is Tolbert Web?+
