Service overview
This page explains how the studio works. It is not a contract — each project is governed by a separate written agreement prepared before work begins.
What the studio does
Tolbert Studio designs and builds websites and carefully scoped website features for small businesses: marketing sites, landing pages, menus and catalogs, galleries, forms and questionnaires, scheduling connections, calculators, and quote-request workflows. The studio deliberately does not take on SaaS application development, native mobile apps, full e-commerce stores, large customer portals, complex authentication systems, or paid-advertising management.
How projects are scoped and priced
Every project starts with discovery: understanding your business and what the website needs to do. From there you receive a written proposal covering scope, price, and expected timeline. Package prices shown on this site are starting points, not quotes — the written proposal is what defines your project. Projects begin with an upfront deposit, and larger projects may use milestone payments; the exact schedule is set out in your project agreement.
What clients provide
The words and images of your business come from you — finalized text and photos for Starter Presence, and source material we shape together on larger projects. Timely feedback during review rounds keeps the timeline realistic; delays in content or feedback move delivery dates accordingly.
Revisions
Each package includes a stated number of revision rounds — consolidated sets of change requests. Additional rounds or scope added mid-project are quoted before they’re built, never billed as a surprise.
Ongoing and third-party costs
Hosting, maintenance, and updates can be covered by an optional monthly care plan, or handled by you. Domains are typically billed separately and registered in your name. Paid third-party services — premium scheduling tiers, paid APIs, specialized plugins — are passed through transparently or incorporated into the written quote. Final launch may depend on completion of the agreed payment schedule.
The written agreement
Payment terms, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities for your specific project are established in a written agreement prepared before work begins. If anything on this page and your agreement ever differ, the agreement governs.
