Islands Pool Service is a pool cleaning, maintenance, and repair business in Palo Alto, California. The website had three jobs: explain the services, read well on a phone, and make asking for a quote easy.

What the business needed

Pool care is a trust purchase — customers are letting someone onto their property week after week. The site had to present four different services without overwhelming anyone, and let a visitor either call or ask for a quote without hunting for how.

What was built

A website organized around the services themselves: each one opens to show what it covers — what a weekly visit includes, what a draining and startup involves. Quote requests go through a short form, and for customers who would rather just call, the phone number stays visible.

Design decisions

  • Each service opens to show what it covers, so the page stays short for someone skimming and complete for someone comparing.
  • The quote form asks which service is needed alongside the contact details, so the first reply can answer the actual question.
  • Calling and requesting a quote are both available from the top of the page, because pool customers use both.
